PROPHET MUHAMMAD'S TREATY WITH CHRISTIANS OF NAJRAN

I did my NYSC (National Youth Service Corp) in Zamfara state , Nigeria .My various expereinces in Zamfara further cemembted my belief that Islam is a peaceful and beautiful religion.....maybe one of my reasons might be because when I fell ill in camp (it was stressful), it was a Fulani friend who took good care of me, got my drugs and made sure I was well taken care of, so there was no need to travel back South. ..
But recently the hatred and violence against Northern Christians has been terrible, there is hardly a week that passes that one doesnt hear about the killing of Christians in the North by the terrorist group known as BOKO HARAM and they justify their action claiming it is the "Muslim way"..
I am Igbo and a Christian by birth , however I love my Muslim Sisters and Brothers and I have always had an admiration for Fulani and Hausa customs. One time I went to Wuse Market in Abuja , I observed that 90 percent of the men who came to buy gold jewellery for their wives were northerners...and they were very protective of women, they wouldnt allow them carry any heavy load
.
I have been heart broken since last sunday's wicked bombing of Saint Rita's Catholic Church in which about 15 innocent christians lost their lives and another 100 were injured, I was starting to question my own sentiments until I came across a friends facebook post " Kaduna Bombing - Not Islamic...:" and after a few comments ,I did a little research and found this Text which I share with you today..
I am hoping that this will be help people understand that BOKO HARAM IS NOT THE NORTHEN MUSLIM'S SENTIMENTS TOWARDS CHRISTIANS!

HISTORY OF THE TREATY

A delegation of 60 Christians living in the community of Narjan, to some 600 km of Médine, the city or lived the Prophet mahomet, went at his place as a delegation in year 631. The talks between the representatives of a community monotheist with the founder of another lasted three days. They made it possible to once and for all clarify the model of Moslem ethics with respect to " the autre" in religion.

The meeting with the Christians of Najran evoked above was not, far from there, an event isolated in the life from the Prophet, who testifies constantly to the permanence of his interreligieuses relations. A pact former concluded with the Christians from the Sinai to the monastery from co. Catherine (charter of the privileges), and whose documentation exists still today, brings the proof from there

TEXT OF THE TREATY

 “In the name of lenient and miséricordieux God.
“Charter of protection given by God and his Apostle to those which received the Book (crowned), with the Christians who belong to the religion of Najran or any other sect Christian woman. He was written to them by Mohammad, envoy of God close to all the men, in pledge of protection on behalf of God and his Apostle, and so that he is for the Moslems who will come after him a pact which will engage them, that they will have to admit, to recognize for authentic and to observe in their favor. It is defended with any man, was it governor or holder of authority, the enfreindre or to modify it. The Believers will not have to be the responsibility of the Christians, in their imposing of other conditions that those which are carried in this writing. That which will preserve it, which will respect it, which will conform to what is contained there, will discharge its duties and will observe the pact of the Apostle of God. That which, on the contrary, will violate it, which will be opposed to it, which will change it, will relate its crime to its head; because it will have betrayed the pact of God, will have violated his faith, will have resisted its authority and contravened the will of its Apostle: he will be thus impostor with the eyes of God. Because the religion that God imposed, and the pact whom it made, make protection obligatory. That which will not observe this pact, will violate its sacred duties, and that which violates its sacred duties does not have fidelity and will be disavowed by God and all the sincere Believers. The reason for which the Christians deserved to obtain this pact of protection of God, his Envoy and the Believers, is a right which they were acquired, and which engages whoever is Moslem, to obtain this charter established in their favor by the men of this Religion and which forces any Moslem to have regard there, to lend to him hand-strong, to preserve it, keep it perpetually and to respect it accurately. ”

PROPHET MUHAMMAD'S PROMISE TO CHIRISTIANS

The document is not a modern human rights treaty but even thought it was penned in 628 A.D. it clearly protects the right to property, freedom of religion, freedom of work, and security of the person, says Muqtedar Khan.

Muslims and Christians together constitute over fifty percent of the world and if they lived in peace, we will be half way to world peace. One small step that we can take towards fostering Muslim-Christian harmony is to tell and retell positive stories and abstain from mutual demonization.

In this article I propose to remind both Muslims and Christians about a promise that Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) made to Christians. The knowledge of this promise can have enormous impact on Muslim conduct towards Christians. Muslims generally respect the precedent of their Prophet and try to practice it in their lives.

In 628 AD, a delegation from St. Catherine’s Monastery came to Prophet Muhammed and requested his protection. He responded by granting them a charter of rights, which I reproduce below in its entirety. St. Catherine’s Monastery is located at the foot of Mt. Sinai and is the world’s oldest monastery. It possesses a huge collection of Christian manuscripts, second only to the Vatican, and is a world heritage site. It also boasts the oldest collection of Christian icons. It is a treasure house of Christian history that has remained safe for 1400 years under Muslim protection.

The Promise to St. Catherine:

"This is a message from Muhammad ibn Abdullah, as a covenant to those who adopt Christianity, near and far, we are with them.

Verily I, the servants, the helpers, and my followers defend them, because Christians are my citizens; and by God! I hold out against anything that displeases them. 

No compulsion is to be on them. Neither are their judges to be removed from their jobs nor their monks from their monasteries. No one is to destroy a house of their religion, to damage it, or to carry anything from it to the Muslims' houses.

Should anyone take any of these, he would spoil God's covenant and disobey His Prophet. Verily, they are my allies and have my secure charter against all that they hate. 

No one is to force them to travel or to oblige them to fight. The Muslims are to fight for them. If a female Christian is married to a Muslim, it is not to take place without her approval. She is not to be prevented from visiting her church to pray. Their churches are to be respected. They are neither to be prevented from repairing them nor the sacredness of their covenants.

No one of the nation (Muslims) is to disobey the covenant till the Last Day (end of the world)."

The first and the final sentence of the charter are critical. They make the promise eternal and universal. Muhammed asserts that Muslims are with Christians near and far straight away rejecting any future attempts to limit the promise to St. Catherine alone. By ordering Muslims to obey it until the Day of Judgment the charter again undermines any future attempts to revoke the privileges. These rights are inalienable. Muhammed declared Christians, all of them, as his allies and he equated ill treatment of Christians with violating God’s covenant.

A remarkable aspect of the charter is that it imposes no conditions on Christians for enjoying its privileges. It is enough that they are Christians. They are not required to alter their beliefs, they do not have to make any payments and they do not have any obligations. This is a charter of rights without any duties!

I know most readers, must be thinking so what? Well the answer is simple. Those who seek to foster discord among Muslims and Christians focus on issues that divide and emphasize areas of conflict. But when resources such as Muhammad’s promise to Christians are invoked and highlighted it builds bridges. It inspires Muslims to rise above communal intolerance and engenders good will in Christians who might be nursing fear of Islam or Muslims.

When I look at Islamic sources, I find in them unprecedented examples of religious tolerance and inclusiveness. They make me want to become a better person. I think the capacity to seek good and do good inheres in all of us. When we subdue this predisposition towards the good, we deny our fundamental humanity. In this holiday season, I hope all of us can find time to look for something positive and worthy of appreciation in the values, cultures and histories of other peoples.

IS MASTURBATION A SIN OR NECESSARY EVIL ?

Masturbation is defined as the manual stimulation of the genital organs (of yourself or another) for sexual pleasure. There are many slang names for masturbation There are many slang terms for masturbation which include ; jacking off , jilling off , jerking off, spanking the monkey, double clicking the mouse, self-love, self service and a date with vaselina! lol

HISTORY OF MASTURBATION

While there are no direct references to masturbation in cave paintings or other prehistoric artifacts, the practice of masturbation by Bonobo chimpanzees, which share 98.4% percent of our DNA, provides some confirmation that masturbation has likely been practiced since the dawn of mankind.In the ancient world, depictions of male masturbation are relatively common.  The Egyptians, for example, celebrated masturbation as the process by which the sun god, Atum, created the first Adam and Eve equivalents, Shu and Tefnut.  "With the hand of their god, Atun masturbated and brought forth the first pair of souls."

The Sumerians, who invented the first written Western language, make reference to the Mesopotamian god Enki masturbating, his ejaculation filling the Tigris River with flowing water.

Condemnation of masturbation is as old as fertility-worship and is probably based on early man’s realization that there is safety in numbers.  A bigger tribe is more likely to gain new territory and expand its power base.  In theory, this is this reason that any form of sexual pleasure unlikely to result in a population increase (e.g. masturbation, homosexuality, oral/anal sex) has routinely been denounced as wrong.  They also felt masturbation mocked the natural laws of reproduction GOD has instituted .

In the Judeo-Christian tradition prevalent throughout Western society, the main Scripture quoted by Christians to denounce masturbation is Genesis 38.  In biblical times, under Jewish law, a brother was required to procreate with his brother's widow. Onan of Judah refused, and "spilled his seed" (i.e. ejaculate), on the ground instead. This is the origin of the term Onanism (The Sin of Onan) which is incorrectly used in place of masturbation — in fact, what really happened was premature withdrawal (i.e. coitus interruptus).

In the 18th and 19th century the fear of masturbation was so great that throughout the world, extreme preventative measures were instituted including the use of mechanical restraints, genital surgery, and physical discipline. By the 19th century the cereal magnate John Harvey Kellogg declared "sex for anything but reproduction" to be "sexual excess." Kellogg and others began advocating routine circumcision of males as a deterrent to masturbation.

The term, spermatorrhea, was even invented to explain nocturnal emissions, as no man was willing to admit to masturbating. Between 1856 and 1932, the U.S. Patent Office, awarded 33 patents to inventors of anti-masturbation devices.

Here are some examples Antimasturbation devices:

1. Simple Bondage-- For some, the simple answer was to tie the masturbators up and prevent them from touching themselves.

2. Leather-Jacket Corset-- A corset made out of leather and steel to be used by boys, was created by Dr. Fleck in 1831. It included a metal penis tube and "a steel band riveted to the shield permanently and attached to the body with an encircling steel band in such a manner that it cannot be removed and prevented access to the testicles." The doctor once reported that "it closes with greatest accuracy, fits to perfection, and the boy wears it continuously without having succeeded even once in reaching his genitals or pulling the machine away from his body so as to produce friction on his genitals."

3. Spike-lined Ring-- Created to prevent the nocturnal emissions and any display of night time sexuality, spike-lined penis rings were created in the 1950's by doctors in Boston.

4. Spermatorrhea Bandage-- These devices kept the penis tightly bound, thus making it impossible to have an erection.

5. Stephenson Spermatic Truss-- Patented in 1876, this device placed the penis in a pouch, and then stretched and tied down between the legs, which made erection impossible. Stephenson changed his device slightly 21 years later, adding a metal hood under which the penis could move freely. Any erection would drive the penis against painful spikes.

6. Bowen Device-- This device was like a cup that was placed over the head of the penis and attached to pubic hair by chains and clips. When the wearer got an erection, the pubic hair would be plucked painfully and the wearer would have to respond.

7. The Cage-- The Handbook of Medicine in 1885 offered a metal cage that could be put around a boys genitals. It would allow erections, which weren't seen as wrong, yet would prevent the boy from touching himself.

8. Dr. Moodie Apparatus for Boys-- Scotch physician John Moodie invented this truss-and-shield device in 1848. It included a penis tube with a slot on the side for the boy to push his penis out in order to urinate.

9. Penis-Cooling Devices-- These devices cooled an impending erection with either air or water; Frank Orth invented both types and patented them in 1893. He said that "the penis is inserted in the hole and between the levers so that if during the night an erection occurs, the dilatation of the penis spreads the levers, thus separating the jaws, and permitting the cold water to flow through the tube to the sack or envelope. The cold water... cools the organ of generation, so that the erection subsides and no discharge occurs."

10. Sexual Armor-- A jacket with leather pants which supports a large piece of steel armor. Perforations in the armor allowed urine to escape, yet the bolted, padlocked trapdoor at the rear would have to be opened for other business.....NA WAH O!

Beginning with the Kinsey Report of 1948, masturbation was demystified and even discovered to be beneficial. In 1966, Masters & Johnson  revealed the practice to be virtually universal in North America, cutting across all boundaries of sex, age, race, and social class. In 1971 Goldstein, Haeberle & McBride determined masturbation to be the most common form of sexual activity among humans.
It is clear that masturbation has had a dynamic and varied history.  It now almost universally accepted by the medical community that masturbation is a common, safe, and normal practice which occurs in infants, teenagers, and adults.

Despite this new attitude, the actual practice and discussion of masturbation continues to be a social taboo within most societies.  Former Surgeon General Jocelyn Elder was immediately dismissed by President Clinton in 1994 after she stated that masturbation “is something that is part of human sexuality and its part of something that perhaps should be taught.

ADVANTAGES OF MASTURBATION :

Undoubtedly, there are a few persons who masturbate and who are of immature mind, but so are there persons who do not masturbate have less sexual desire or have hang-ups about sex.

• There is no basis for the belief that people who masturbate have less sexual desires or have hang-ups about sex. A recent survey in fact, showed that people who masturbate have increased sexual desire and have more sexual drive than those who do not. There are people who because of previous experience, as discussed in the early part of this book, are afraid of sexual intercourse. Such people find solace in masturbation for the release of their sexual desires but they are in the minority.
• Masturbation provides an alternate sexual intercourse – free of the need and complications or cost of finding a consenting partner, free from the risk of sexually transmitted diseases, free from HIV/AIDS and free from the risk of unwanted pregnancy. Masturbation provides a chance for the girl or woman to explore her sexual response and for the man, to release his tensions when aroused at a time he is alone or not bold enough to have a regular girl friend.
• Masturbation develops self love and familiarizes oneself with one’s own sexual response. One can relieve sexual tension without imposing on any body else.   
• Mutual masturbation, the act by which two or more partners stimulate themselves in the presence of each other, allows a couple to reveal the map to their pleasure centers. • Most people who masturbate have a feeling of guilt of doing something they have been made to believe is bad. Most of these feelings arose from religious or cultural taboo and traditional beliefs on sexual behaviors and practices.
• Bruising of the genital organs can occur during masturbation, particularly if they are handled roughly during the act or if there is not enough lubrication. These can cause a lot of pain and can lead to serious infection if contaminated by germs.
• Like all habits, it may be difficult to break for some people. The tendency is also there for adolescents to do nothing else but masturbate whenever they have some free time. This is bad as it does not allow them to develop other aspects of their talent and broaden their horizon for the world ahead.
• There is the danger that masturbation may be preferred to normal sexual intercourse, and this may affect sexual relationship after marriage.
• In men, masturbation has been known to be associated with premature ejaculation, that is, having ejaculation before or just after sexual intercourse.

PROS VS CONS

Masturbation can make you a ‘slave to various desires and pleasures and fantasies ,’ and it fosters attitudes that can be mentally dehumanizing.  At the same time, is self-masturbation  a form of gross sexual immorality, worse than fornication? AND IF SHE MASTURBATES , IS HER SIN OF MASTURBATION WORSE THAN THE WOMAN WHO HAS FORGOTTEN HER VOWS AT THE ALTAR AND DECIDES TO COMMIT ADULTRY...??  OR THE WOMAN WHO KNOWS SHE IS MARRIED AND ENCOURAGES MEN TO MAKE ADVANCES ON HER BY VISITING "FRIENDLY" MEN IN THEIR HOMES ? 

AND SHOULD THE MAN WHO IS ADDICTED TO SEX AND CANT TAKE HIS EYES OFF ANYTHING IN SKIRTS (he needs deliverance) CONTINUE TO SATISFY HIS SEXUAL URGES WITH DIFFERENT WOMEN BECAUSE MASTURBATION IS A SIN ?....Hmmmn.

Hence, if you have a problem with masturbation, you need not conclude that you have committed the unforgivable sin. The key is to resist the urge and never to give up your fight against its influence on you and your loved ones..thats if you believe its a sin o! ..

IK is gaining a lot of attention from the movie critics as every director  wants to work  with him because of his brilliant movie script interpretation, in just less than 3months of his debut in Nollywood.

His hobbies include watching movies , sports, playing video games, hanging out with friends and charity work. He likes people who are honest , clean  , ambitious , hard working and God fearing. He also loves football and He is a passionate Chelsea football fan!

He aspires to be featured on forbes Magazine someday soon.

NGOZI :Who is Ikechukwu?
IK : Ik is an egalitarian .. Who believes in God and hard work

NGOZI : You are a model, Did you always know you were handsome?
IK :  lol.. yea I model and I am also an actor.. and the truth is everyone is handsome or beautiful! so yes I believe I have always been handsome and ppl around me and yea my mirror tells me that everyday and maybe the attention I get from people played a role too ..<smiles!>

NGOZI : How do you maintain your Sexiness?
IK :  I work out a lot .. And I do a lot of IQ tests too ..bcoz I believe sexiness goes a long way beyond  physical appearance.

NGOZI : Has being a model being a lucrative venture for you?
IK : Yes it has been .. It's played a major role in establishing me too!

a) which has been the most difficult event you ever organized and which has been the most lavishly expensive?
IK : A wedding I organized 3 years back .. And yea money was hard then so the little I put in affected me a lot

IK : Style defines a person .. Basically looking good and feeling good at the same time

NGOZI :  You have been dubbed "Raw sex served smoking hot" by ladies! How do u cope with female attention and is there a special woman in your life...?
IK : lol that's too much for little Ik now .. I respect everyone .. Even tho I get insulted sometimes .. When I dnt give them what they want ...My Beautiful Mum is the Lady of my Heart, Every WOMAN who has supported me positively in all I do and aspire to be is MY SPECIAL LADY!

.....Unknown to Stephanie, her husband was closely guarding a secret surprise birthday bash for her. To make his plans go smoothly, he had arranged for Stephanie to visit the hair stylists, booked her a session at a beauty spa to get her physically in the mood for an eventful evening. To put finishing touches to his plan, he had also invited about 30 of Stephanie’s closest friends, family and industry colleagues which included Nollywood beauties Ini Edo, Monalisa Chinda, producer Emem Isong, Kanayo .O. Kanayo, Frank Edoho just to mention a few, to a wonderfully organized candle lit dinner at their Ikoyi residence.
The celebrant returned to shouts of “happy birthday!” from friends, family, colleagues and loved ones. Already, there was a live music band to set the tone for the night. The actress was surprised as she was excited that she couldn’t hide it especially the presence of her colleagues at the event, as she laughed, exchanged banters and hugged family and friends.
The actress quickly went inside to change to a more befitting outfit and joined the rest of the party. Former DBN host, Israel Edjeren was the MC – a job he did justice to. And the highlight of the event was when the celebrant’s husband, Linus Idahosa once again re-declared his love for his wife and serenaded her with a beautiful love song.

BREAST FACTS AND FICTION...WOMAN KNOW THY BREASTS!

The fear of SAGGING BREASTS is the beginning of BRA WEARING..but is this true?....lets find out!

MYTH : The average female breast size is a C-cup.
FACT : Women come in all shapes and sizes---from AAA to KK (and beyond). The fastest growing segment of the bra industry is the larger cup sizes of DD and above. No one is sure why women’s breasts are getting bigger, but it has little to do with increased rates of breast augmentations.

MYTH : Breast development ends in your early to mid-teens
FACT :    Many women don't achieve their full boob growth until their mid-20s and breast tissue continues to change all the way through menopause. You may be an early or a late boob-bloomer!

MYTH : You'll wear the same bra cup and band most of your life
FACT : Bra manufacturers estimate a woman wears 6 to 8 different sizes over the course of her lifetime. Breasts are more like moving targets on our chest, often changing two different sizes in one month.

MYTH :  Breasts are meant to be perfectly symmetrical
FACT : Most women have two different breasts on their chests and they are rarely “twins.”Just call them 'girls'..lol

MYTH : Men prefer women with bigger breasts
FACT: Studies show that women over estimate the size of breasts that men prefer. Partners are more accepting of our bodies and seem to be happy to be around any breasts at all...except Nigerian men! lol

MYTH :  Women who opt for breast implants always do so to increase their cup size
FACT: The majority of women who have breast augmentations are married, with two kids (average age 34). Since breasts are mostly made of fat and not muscle, implants are the only way to add back volume lost from pregnancy. They may or may not choose to go bigger, and many others choose to change their implant size over time. Alternatively, just because a woman has large breasts doesn't mean she had a boob job.

MYTH : Women with small breasts can't breastfeed.
FACT : Breast size is determined more by the amount of fat stored in a woman’s chest, not her underlying milk glands. Milk production is regulated by baby’s nursing demands. Many larger breasted women have difficulty with latch on and positioning due to their increased size.

MYTH : If you don’t wear a bra, your breasts will sag.
FACT : No one really knows what keeps our breasts afloat. It may have more to do with your DNA than anything we wrap around our breasts. Weight gain and loss, plus smoking decrease elasticity and lead to sagging skin. Although studies  show that it’s important to have the proper support when you exercise so that you don’t stretch or break down breast tissue.

MYTH:  Breast implants will have to be replaced
FACT : For the most part, breast augmentation/lifts with implants need to be revised after 10-15 years because the implant may have degenerated. But more likely there will be a change in the shape of the breast because of gravity, having children, and/or breastfeeding.

MYTH : You will wear the same bra size your entire life
FACT : There is no one-size fits all rule when it comes to your breasts. The size and shape will change over time depending on what stage of life you are in. When you are pregnant and/or nursing your breasts will increase significantly. Some women see a one or two cup change. Women going through menopause will actually see a reduction in their breast size sometimes. And anytime you gain or lose weight you can expect for the band size of your bra to change. It's important to get resized every year to be sure that you are wearing the proper bra. Wearing a bra that doesn't fit can contribute to several health issues including: indigestion, backache and migraines

MYTH : Underwire bras increase your chances of getting breast cancer

FACT : Small studies in the past have tried to say that there might be a correlation between wearing a bra with an underwire and getting breast cancer. Their research had to do with blood flow restriction but there is no evidence to substantiate or support the claims. So go right ahead and buy an underwire bra!

MYTH : Deodorant causes cancer

FACT : A study was done years ago that there might be a link between antiperspirant and breast cancer because of the aluminum in it. Plain deodorants don't have any aluminum in them and are safe. But reports suggest that aluminum can be absorbed through the skin if you cut yourself shaving. The National Cancer Institute and the FDA hasn't found any evidence that that any of these ingredients cause cancer. But if you want to be on the safe side avoid buying antiperspirants and stick to plain deodorant.

MYTH : You can't get cancer after you've had a mastectomy

FACT : Unfortunately, after having a mastectomy you may still be susceptible to cancer. It can reoccur on the chest wall, which is called the pectoralis muscle. If you've had a nipple sparing mastectomy then cancer can present itself in the nipple. Although it's rare, cancer could grow in the lymph nodes even if you've had an axillary node dissection. Cancer can always occur in other areas of the body and the fact that you've already had cancer leaves you more at risk for developing other kinds, like ovarian and colon cancers. So be vigilant about taking your medications and going for follow-up doctor's visits

MYTH : The left breast is bigger than the right breast. 

FACT : This is a condition called asymmetry and almost all women have some difference in the size of their breasts. Although it might be difficult to notice, 75 percent of women have a left breast that is larger than the right one. In some women the discrepancy can be almost an entire cup size. If it truly bothers you, talk to your doctor about breast augmentation.

MYTH : You can't breastfeed if you've had breast implants

FACT : This is a complicated answer because there are several variables involved. For the most part it is true - you can breastfeed if you've had breast implants. That is, if the incision was made in the armpit, under the breast or in the areola. If you've had this type of surgery then it is most likely that your milk ducts are still intact. For women who've had a breast lift with implants and the incision goes all the way around the nipple there is a chance that you may not be able to breastfeed because the milk ducts would have been severed behind the nipple. You won't know this however, until you speak with your plastic surgeon

STRANGE FACT : Men Lactate too (weird but true!), It’s exceptionally rare, but since men possess mammary glands just like women do, they have the capacity to produce milk. When male lactation happens, it’s usually because of hormonal treatments for diseases like cancer.
