SUICIDE...A CURSE OR PSYCHOLOGICAL PROBLEM??

With the increase in suicide rate in Nigeria, this article though disturbing has become very necessary. Nigerians were once described as happy people,so why is it that are we are now plagued with a terrible suicide epidemic. Terrorists use suicide bombers as weapons of mass destruction in our beloved country and sadly suicide rates are on the increase in Nigeria. Take the case of the Nigerian Facebook Suicide...Ovie Richy seemed like a normal guy,he had loads of friends and a good sense of humor ,but unknown to people around him, he was depressed and tired of Nigeria and her Peculiar problems, He complained of incessant armed robberies, unemployment and not being able to make a head way in his education because of wicked lecturers!! He spoke about his planned suicide for 2 days but no one took him seriously..He eventually killed himself and was buried the same day.

There was also the case of Mr. Al-Mustaim Alade Abaniwonda,a popular lagos politician,he jumped into the lagos lagoon after coming down from his chauffer driven car at the leventis Bus stop Marina. Also in Ogun state Tobilola Ajihun killed herself after her long time boyfriend Simeon Akinremi, rejected her pregnancy!! her suicide note read: Please, I killed myself by taking rat poison because he rejected my pregnancy. I was sincere to him and I never double-dated. So, I decided to take my life and my God will revenge because I did not forgive him."


Its quite tragic that statistics cannot explain rising number of suicide cases in Nigeria. In African Culture suicide is considered a taboo and the victims are believed to have brought curses on the loved ones they have left behind.Some psychologists believe that the most funny people are indeed the most depressed because most times they feel empty inside and they tend towards making people feel good so that the appreciation shown by the people they entertain will create a feeling which they can have in place of true love! TUPAC DIGITALLY REINCARNATED!

Its not surprising that some people still believe that Tupac is still alive. Could it be that they are hoping against hope ? Is it that they refuse to accept that the king of 'Thug Life' is gone forever.However some people think because of the following reasons TUPAC is still alive

• 2Pac now calls himself Makaveli... Machiavelli was an Italian war strategist who advocated faking one's death to fool their enemies... 2Pac was a fan of his and had read his books several times. Perhaps 2Pac is taking his advice... (But that is not all Machiavelli did... Nicolo Machiavelli was a political, military theorist, historian, playwright, diplomat, and military planner. •  2Pac was cremated the day after he died... Since when does some one get cremated the day after a murder? There was no autopsy. The Ugly menace of Rape in our society By Tunde Adeleye

In light of the recent armed robbery attack, and alleged raping of some of the 42 students of the Holy Rosary College, of Enugu state, around the Oke-Odo end of Sagamu-Benin Expressway during the easter, it again underscores the disturbing recurring crimes prevalent in our society.  


The issue of rape in Nigeria has long been a problematic one. Unfortunately for many years, it has been a trend which has continued unabated due to the ineffectual laws to hand out tougher and harsher prison sentences to perpetrators of such crimes in our society. 




Little wonder that ongoing sexual abuse continues to be rampant in homes, schools and in the streets (the victims as young as 9 years old and the vile act usually committed by people the victims know and trust), many of which are unreported to the police giving the modicum amount of seriousness the case will receive.


On the surface, the sporadic events highlighting the issue of rape particularly when many girls are involved, brings to the fore a more deeper understanding of the sickening act. 


With the way I view it, the police are powerless to stop the wave of attacks. Even the government, state or Federal seem reluctant to wage a relentless war on rapists, moreso when a "big man" with a big reputation is the perpetrator. 


Hence, if we expect our legislators in the Nigerian National Assembly to pass laws to combat this crime, we will be bitterly disappointed to find out that it will amount to nothing. 


Evidently, in Nigeria, rape is often not judged as a serious crime that warrants immediate judicial intervention (if any) and the eventual incarceration of the perpetrator of the crime. The case is simply swept under the carpet. No forensics done on the victim or the alledged perpetrator. 


Even if the testimony of the victim is admitted, it is unlikely to see the light of day. The victim may even end up been chided for dressing too loosely to have aroused the sexual interest of the perpetrator. 


Case closed, never to be reopened again regardless of any new evidence.


Be that as it may, rape, when it happens, is not necessarily about men exercising power over their powerless female victims. Sometimes it is beyond that, and altogether something that defies logic and human comprehension. 




Since that is the case, it is plausible to state that it is a demonic activity and an uncontrollable force that has taken over the whole being of the perpetrator of the crime. 




Haven't we heard countless number of cases of incest, between father and daughter - mostly for ritualistic purposes to amass wealth? Undoubtedly it is a repulsive act that, even the daughter who is the victim, may not be aware of, having been subjected to incantations which would rob her memory of the sexual act. 




The act may or may not be privy to 
the wife of the perpetrator. In all, the victim may never have the opportunity to marry, as potential male suitors would be put off for one reason or the another, with the girl unable to figure out the reason behind such rejections


Notwithstanding her present state of mind, whether conscious or unconscious, the psychological trauma will be heavily weighted and engraved on the minds of the affected victims for life. Only a sustained dose of many years of counselling for the victims, is ever  likely to be a source of treatment to overcome or alleviate such deep rooted traumas.  




In many rape cases, such as the documented rape story, and orgy killings,
(Remember the 50 helpless people that were forced to lie down on the floor at gun point, and trampled upon by a luxurious bus on the Benin-Ore some years back?) 
such occurrences are unquestionably necessitated by the need to fuel and re-fuel the demonic sacrifices for which the stupendous wealth of the so called "big men" in our society is derived from. 




And yes, it is unmistakably true that this assertion unfortunately includes 
some of the lawmakers you would expect to effect a real change in our society by enacting and enforcing laws that protects the human rights - particularly those of women and children - life, property, etc.




Undeniably, we live in a wicked world, where love, respect and kindless is fast becoming a rare commodity. It is at its lowest ebb. In fact, it is taking society back to the barbarian dark ages where the sanctity of live means nothing to anyone anymore.




Regardless, this is not to suggest that we should give up on the fight against societal ills. We simply need to recognise that majority of societal ills are perpetrated by sick individuals who have morgaged their souls to the devil. Making a concerted effort to engage these people is akin to using a feather to kill a poisnuos reptile.




No doubt, activism is one way to go about it. But surely, effective prayers to arrest the lamentable trend of events in our society still holds the key. We delude ourselves if we think otherwise.

ILUMINATI....REAL OR FICTION?

Just so you know, im hoping this conspiracy theory about successful entertainment moguls  is just plain fiction.But sometimes I cant help but wonder how some artists  get to the zenith of their profession,secure the best mouth watering deals and endorsements with little or no talent whatsoever.I also wonder why some symbols and gestures seem repeated in popular music videos.However when I googled the word "Iluminati" I was amazed ,almost scared at the amount of information in words ,pictures and videos links that came out and they all seem to believe there is indeed such an organisation and their main aim is world domination using mind control. One of such links, http://www.illuminati-news.com/used-artists.htm claims the Illuminati is planing to take over the world by controlling world politics and finances from behind the scenes.They also claimed  hollywood and the music industry are two of their most powerful tools which  they use in controlling the masses and setting new trends.However none of these conspiracy theorists offered any hard proof ,just pictorial explanations and a lot of sensationalism.
Anyway im just wondering if this new picture pose  trending with our beloved celebrities is just a fashion fad...

On domestic Violence - What's love got to do with it? By Tunde Adeleye PART 2

Once these men begin to lose grip of their authority when the wife becomes confrontational, such men reason foolishly that the only way to regain that authority is to hit out violently.


However, by doing so, they haven't in effect regained that authority. They have in the real sense of the word, lost control of it. For when a man boldly questions that "Don't you know, I am the head of this house?", in reality, they never were, otherwise they wouldn't raise the question in the first place. 


Any man who treats his wife with respect, love, dignity and care will attract the same measure back from his wife since it is in the nature of women to multiply what is given to them.


For example, if a man sows love, he will attract it back in so many ways. For this kind of man, he need not declare boldly that he is the man or head of the house. His leadership qualities will shine through unannounced, but recognised all the same without him resorting to violence. 


In itself, violence is a result of loss of control not usually supported by logic. It is only a beast who acts outside the realm of rationality that leads to brutality, that is referred to as an animal. Some men belong to this category. For an animal has no control over their behaviour or emotions, nor care much about the consequences of their actions. Yet, even animals have rights against cruelty by humans. 


Men who violently abuse their wives can quite rightly be referred to as animals no matter the clear distinction, for that is precisely what they are. Since there is a generally
accepted universal law that protects the fundamental human rights of individuals, this should include and cover areas of assault and grievous bodily harm (GBH), as well as child and spousal abuse, amongst others.


I challenge any man who is a wife beater to be present when his wife gives birth live and see the agonising pain they go through. I equally challenge such men to take a back sit and recount all the good qualities God has bestowed on a woman, knowing fully well that they have a mother and in some cases, a sister as well as a daughter.  Not content, I also challenge them to seek help for the demon that has possessed them, due to the unacknowledged fact by them that they are mentally sick, deranged and should be confined within the four walls of Yaba LEFT - (a Mental home).


For the time being, I propose that a sex offenders and domestic violence offenders database should be collated. Given the flexibility of the Freedon of Information Act (FoI), women can access the database during courtship and before they head towards the altar with any man.


In addition, I would also want to see laws enacted to protect women who are abused, and the perpetrators prosecuted and given long term prison sentences. I fervently pray that many of such cases should be assigned to a female judge with the possibility of an extended jail term a reality. Of course, the law should equally be protective of husbands who suffer domestic violence from their wives as well. 


But this is Nigeria where shamefully nothing works. It is one thing to pass the appropriate laws, and quite another to implement them. We have allowed culture, and for the most part religion, to seduce us into thinking that men are superior to women. 


As a result, in Nigeria, we live in a patriarchal male dominated society (which extends throughout Africa) where women are looked down upon by men, and at times spoken to and affronted in a disrespectful manner in public. 


Not surprisingly, the misguided and intellectually lightweight concept that women are inferior to men rings shallow and continues to sound like a broken off beat record. Some men simply need to wake up from their slumber and smell/drink the coffee. The truth is cold and bitter, but it has never been unhealthy when swallowed. We are in the 21st century and not in the dark ages. How many cases of accomplished women have we heard whose singular worth and value is immeasurably better than 20 able men?


For all intents and purposes, how many men have spoken out against domestic violence or child abuse in our society? This is a serious subject matter that needs to be on the radar of national discourse. Yet, I don't see that happening. Unknown to them, it could be the turn of their sisters, or daughters who are physically abused. What then?


Truth be told, wife beaters 
do not deserve to be called men. They inadvertently give other good men a bad name. Clearly too, they are a bad advertisement for fatherhood, for which daughter in her right senses would pray that her abusive father will be a role model for her future husband to be?


I reserve my admonition lastly for women who remain in abusive relationships. The longer you remain, the more likely that your prince charming, will continue to harm you and not charm you any longer. It's not about love anymore. That died ages ago. Ask Tina Turner. What's love got to do with it? The beast has taken your self esteem, your freedom is possibly under lock and key as well. Was this the contract you signed for? When will it all end? NEVER - is the not too elusive answer.


As a woman, you are a jewel of inestimable value. A queen that deserves to be placed on a pedestal of love, respect and glory. For a beloved wife is the crown that adorns the head of her husband, if only the husband recognises and acknowledges this fact. You deserve no less than this. And the sooner you realise this, the better for your self worth. 


To the wives who had the courage to escape the clutches of their abusive husbands, I say well done. I am sure it wasn't easy, but you were brave to have done it. There's nothing stopping you now from rebuilding your lives and starting over again. 


To this end, and to safeguard the welfare of abused women, a lot of women need to be empowered educationally from the grassroots level. Lectures and talks need to be held in the schools, and public lectures given to rural women and  taken to the mainstream corporate sector that domestic violence should not be tolerated in all its ramifications. 


Most important of all, women should be enlightened that they should not be financially dependent on men. They should learn a trade from the various skills acquisition centres available to them. Added to this, they need to improve their personal development on a consistent basis which will enable them to be self sufficient and independent, which in return will improve their self worth and esteem.


No woman or man deserves to be subjected to spousal abuse. It is dehumanising, inexcusable, wholly unacceptable and downright barbaric in a supposedly civilised society as ours. Something needs to be done by the legislators to arrest this condemnable atrocity from spinning out of control. And very FAST too.

But as a woman nothing brings joy to your vanity as much as well shaped breasts , Men sometimes have a problem maintaining eye contact with women that have well shaped boobs!lol (hailings to Cossy) and thats why some women will go to any extent to try and improve the look,feel and bounce of their breasts..even going as far as going under a plastic surgeon's knife.
I think Kelly Rowland has one of the best boob jobs,lets face it, a leading lady has to LEAD!

I also think our very own Karen Igho (winner BBA) has one of the most beautiful well proportioned breast jobs...heard she spent about a million naira to get those knockers!! ( Thou shall not judge).

.....All is happily ever after in fairy land..but what if the breast augmentation doesnt yield the desired result..thats worse than any horror movie ever made or imagined, apart from the lady's self esteem which is left battered the usually judgemental society will have a filled day dissecting her personality and moral standing,throwing stones as if they are without sins. I just wonder what those not so lucky women  are going through , I sincerly hope they find a good plastic surgeon to correct the abnormally or better still get rid of the implants if its going to bring you sadness and ill health.But what ever gives you joy and increases your self esteem I encourage and dare you to go for it dear!

Why cant we have Easter Tuesday and wednesday?!! Waoh!! quite an eventful holiday.. (RIP TO THOSE INNOCENT SOULS WHO PERISHED DURING THE EASTER CELEBRATIONS..) but in all things we thank GOD. I had an eventful holiday , one of my current love interests or you can call him one of the top contenders for my heart was acting up!! MEN!!!! What do they want from women? 

She gives you plenty attention but you complain she is suffocating you, She withdraws the attention and you complain she does not care, She asks you for money and you refuse to honor her request but when you see her with the purchased goods or services your aproko amebo self wants to know how she got them! 

You prefer to spend time with the boys and sometimes una dey do wetin una no go fit talk for where she dey sef!!  but when she decides to spend time with the girls (or your competition who values her more than u do and constantly shows her how much he adores her and wishes he was you)..You run down our batteries with  your jealousy asking us that your favorite,' very annoying silly question "Where are you?" . 

You inspire her to become more independent, after all a modern woman should be able to pay her own way through life hence she takes her job or business more seriously and she explores more avenues of getting extra income which of course is quite time consuming but  you will rather  forget that  her new busy schedule consumes her time and 24 hours is no longer enough to do everything in a day and you now complain she doesn't spend time with you the way she used to...at home....mostly washing your clothes , cooking your meals and cleaning up after you...After all u said she is your number one , so u leave her at home and take number 2,3,..etc to those nice places and lavish your money (sometimes our money) on them

I am a woman,buy me a rose ...and diamonds....(if u can afford it sha),make me feel special by showing me I am worth making sacrifices for and i will certainly reciprocate.Deliberately create opportunities for us to spend quality time together,treat me like your queen and show me you love me by the look in your eyes (RIP LUTHER VANDROSS). Unfortunately Men are a necessary evil. My Man should just be a Man and He shouldn't complain when I also try to think like a man!!!

But then again, what defines a "typical MODERN female" anyway? Allow me to explain...


• Typical females never display any original identity. She talks, dresses, walks, thinks, and acts like every other female, and swears up and down how shes "nothing like other females out here".


• She usually has kids with different men and be still "looking for friends"...instead of a HUSBAND. She lives her life as if she DONT have kids. Still clubbing, still bopping every weekend.


• She actually thinks "looking for friends" is realistic. She dont overstand that you cant LOOK for friends. And she loves to throw the word "friend" around to describe anyone she knows personally.


• A typical female mistakes "male friends" for OPTIONS. She has a team of guys she keeps around to boost her ego and self-esteem. This type of female is a COMPLETE waste of time for any man who is looking for wife material.


• She loves to lead guys on to nowhere. The type to give a guy her number just to ignore his calls when he calls her and say he a "stalker".


• She loves to argue even when she know she is wrong. She never takes accountability for anything she does. She blames everything she does wrong on men and use excuses to justify everything she does.


• She has over 1000 friends on facebook...and 95% of them are random dudes she never speaks to.


• She takes hundreds of pictures of herself...in the bathroom...half naked...with a camera phone. And swears up and down shes a model.


• She logs on to myspace everyday but swear up and down how she "dont be on myspace like that".


• Typical females love attention. No matter what kind it is as long as guys notice her she feels empowered. She dresses like a slut and gets offended when shes approached like one.


• Typical females are very naive and dumb. They base "good men" off of material assets and superficial attributes.


• She demands respect but has no clue on how to EARN respect.


• Her idea of "having fun" is going to the club, and going to the bar. Thats it. She has no taste in cultured things at all. She only does things that gains her attention.


• She love to say how she "dont need no man to do nothing" for her but she wants a man who has money, a car, his own place, a "good job", etc.


• Her ideal type of man is "tall, handsome, respectful, intelligent, blah blah blah...but NEVER chooses that. Instead she chooses the guys who has multiple baby mamas, felonies, no education, no job, etc.


• A typical female loves to broadcast her relationship on facebook as if facebook is her best friend. She fails to realize that no one really cares...except for the other typical females she socializes with who also have no life.


• She spends her entire day on facebook, myspace, twitter, etc. She is detached from the REAL world.


• She believes a man should "wait" to have sex with her so he can "get to know" her first.


• She claims she "dont hang with females" because they all phony, or they all like to keep up drama, or some other bogus reason on why she likes to be around a bunch of dudes instead.


• Typical females love to talk about other females negatively. She quick to put another sista down for doing the same thing SHE does. Only difference is the typical female tries to hide her dirt.


• Typical females love running game. They are very inconsistent too. Meaning if your a guy and you meet her and you hold a conversation with her on the phone on monday, you wont get a call or answer from her until wednesday at the closest...or sometime the next week. Her excuse? "Im a busy person".


• Unreliable? Definitely. You make plans with this type of chick and you better have a strong plan B. A typical female rarely does anything she says shes going to do.


• She believes since shes a "woman" the man is supposed to take her out on the first date.


• She wears makeup, hair weave, fake nails, fake eye contacts with bogus colors (dark skinned women do NOT have blue eyes), but she quick to call herself a "real woman".


• She married still on facebook adding dudes and on myspace adding dudes. WHAT IS THE PURPOSE?


• She adds random dudes on facebook and myspace for no reason and use the line "its networking" as an excuse.


• She claims to be a "christian" but LOVES horror movies.


• She believes that a male and a female can have sex and be like brother and sister afterwards.


• She believes a guy who approaches her can be like her brother with no intentions on having sex with her or being intimate with her.


• Typical females are quick to get defensive when you tell them the truth about themselves. They cant handle criticism. They so brainwashed that when you tell her the TRUTH about herself she rejects it.


• She likes to show off her body but wonder why no guy takes her serious.


• She has no personality at all. On the phone she just sits and hold the phone. Never has anything to say, but as SOON as you say something she dont like she QUICK to talk then...and will cut you off while your talking in the process.


• She never listens. She only waits for her turn to talk. She can care less what you have to say. She gonna do what she wanna do regardless because she a "grown ass woman".


• Her favorite word is "independent" but in reality she is VERY dependent on men. Her whole existence is based off of what a MAN told her she was and is.


• A typical female is probably YOU...or someone you know of...or someone your currently involved with. Either way, typical Modern females are the WORST. They will generate nothing but problems and headaches for you ultimately resulting in a complete waste of your time. Typical females come in various shapes, sizes, and colors, but the SAME mentality. Stay away from these losers. They may look and portray to be "real women" but these chameleons will get you nowhere in life. So fellas make sure your woman has NONE of these traits or you can forget about that thing called marriage. And ladies make sure YOU dont have any of these traits, or your just gonna be "jump off" material for a very long time

Well this a man's view o!!Now...we wait for someone to demystify the typical modern male...someone said modern men are like avast antivirus...always searching for new virus definitions and always updating their virus database!! lol
