PROJECT GOOGLE GLASS , THE NEW HANDSFREE INTERNET BROWSING EXPERIENCE!..ITS ALL IN THE EYES

I  was watching fashion Tv last night and I noticed one of my favorite designers Diane von Furstenberg  (her prints are to die for) wearing a very trendy goggle at her fashion show in the just concluded NEWYORK FASHION WEEK! Guess what? the GOOGLE co founder Seth Wenig was back stage with her, a fine dapper young man..I bet he is smiling all the way to the bank! But isn't it lovely how the thick line between fashion and technology is getting blurry! Diane Von Furstenberg didnt have a problem assesorizing her designs with google products. The google glasses gave the models a smart futuristic look, and they came in different colors..wow!
So in my usual way I went online to do a little research and today I will share the results of that result with you..ENJOY AND BE INFORMED AND INSPIRED!

PROJECT GLASS!

They’re called Google Glass, and they are frames with built-in screens that act like the heads-up displays in high-end cars. The technology adds a digital layer to what the wearer sees by enabling Internet, an Android operating system, motion sensors, GPS and a camera. If you buy a pair of these ultralights you can update your Twitter feed, send emails and text without the inconvenience of a handheld iPhone.

Project Glass is a research and development program by Google to develop an augmented reality head-mounted display (HMD). The intended purpose of Project Glass products would be the hands-free displaying of information currently available to most smartphone users, and allowing for interaction with the Internet via natural language voice commands. This could mean that all the hype around iPhone 5 , or future iPhone 20 will all be fairytales!

Project Glass is part of the Google X Lab at the company, which has worked on other futuristic technologies, such as a self-driving car. The project was announced on Google+ by Babak Parviz, an electrical engineer who has also worked on putting displays into contact lenses;

A SMALL DISTRACTION..THE GOOGLE X LAB!
Google X Lab, sometimes known as Google X, is a secret facility run by Google thought to be located somewhere in the Bay Area of Northern California. Work at the lab is overseen by Sergey Brin, one of Google's co-founders.

About  a list of 100 projects pertaining to future technologies such as a space elevator, self-driving car, augmented reality glasses, a neural network that uses semi-supervised learning to recognize pictures of cats, and the Web of Things.
So while our Nigerian politicians are busy eating money and killing the YOUTH IN US ( borrowing the catchy phrase from KAONE IN BBA5 ). The Government should encourage the Nigerian Youth to find positve creative ways of expressing themselves. They should give us constant light, good roads and SECUIRITY. (Put the perpetrators of the dastardly act to book..finally! ). The Youth should be part of the DECISION MAKING MACHINERY! When all this is put in place then then the NIGERIAN YOUTH WILL SOAR LIKE EAGLES..even when rulled by TURKEYS AND PEACOCKS!

....BACK TO PROJECT GLASS...I CALL IT GOOGLE GOGGLES LOL..THE PROTOTYPE......

Though head-worn displays for augmented reality are not a new idea, the project has drawn media attention[12] primarily due to its backing by Google, as well as the prototype, which is smaller and slimmer than previous designs for head-mounted displays. The first Project Glass demo resembles a pair of normal eyeglasses where the lens is replaced by a heads-up display. In the future, new designs may allow integration of the display into people's normal eyewear.

The New York Times reported that GLASS would be available to the public for "around the cost of current smartphones" by the end of 2012, hmmmn! does this mean that Apple will launch "nosePhone " series one to twenty ?? !LMAO! because if this new handless information dissemination masterpiece becomes a success ..then your guess is as good as mine! lol .However Other reports have stated that the glasses are not expected to be available for purchase soon. The product (Google Glass Explorer Edition) will be available to United States Google I/O developers for $1,500, shipping early in 2013, while a consumer version is slated to be ready within a year of that.

The product began testing in April 2012. Sergey Brin wore a prototype set of glasses to an April 5, 2012 Foundation Fighting Blindness event in San Francisco. On May 23, 2012, Sergey Brin demoed GLASS on The Gavin Newsom Show and let California Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom wear GLASS. On June 27, 2012, Sergey Brin demoed GLASS at Google I/O where skydivers, abseilers, and mountain bikers wore GLASS and live streamed their point of view to a Google+ Hangout, which was also shown live at the Google I/O presentation. ......AND GOOGLE GOGGLES IS THE NEXT 'IT' FASHION STATEMENT!

Celebrated fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg tried on the google glasses for the first time a few months ago at a conference that she attended with Sergey Brin. She immediately loved it and they agreed to bring the glasses to New York Fashion Week. Diane is a champion for innovation and effortless design, so it’s unsurprising that Glass fit seamlessly into her production. In the week leading up to her Spring 2013 show in New York, and during the show itself, everyone from stylists and models to Diane herself used Glass to capture never-before-seen footage of the creative process.

FASHION TIPS FROM FORBES ON HOW TO WEAR GLASS!

Bright colors. Browns, olives, maroons, and earth tones won’t look right with the vibrant palette of the rims.

Black. Black goes with everything. It’s practical, modern, sleek and chic.

Clean lines. Again, see the DVF Spring 2013 runway show. Note the simple draping and cinching on the dresses. These glasses are designed to look light and clean. The clothing should match that sentiment.

High boots or high heels. Make sure they’re tight, not slouchy, around the ankle and calf. Keep things structured with these glasses. Don’t do anything with stitching or a clunky heel.

Diane Von Furstenberg: This Is How To Wear Google Glasses : If anyone can pull this off, Ms. von Furstenberg can. Lately she’s been a powerhouse of partnerships, joining ROXY for a swimwear line that will hit stores in Spring 2013 and designing for Evian water’s 2013 limited edition bottle slated for stores in November...ANOTHER NOTE TO OUR AFRICAN DESIGNERS...FIND PROFITABLE VENTURES THAT YOU CAN MARRY INTO YOUR FASHION

DVF clothing is strongly feminine, always refined, and the models who wore the glasses in pink and white versions pulled it off with aplomb. (Some wore glasses that recorded the whole show, and the footage will be made into a short film available at www.google.com+DVF on Thursday.)
